CourtNomad

How it works

From profile to court in minutes.

CourtNomad connects everything needed for an amateur tennis match — rating, opponent, court, and result confirmation — into one coherent flow. Here's how it all works.

For players

Five steps to a match

01

Create a profile and complete the skill assessment

Sign up, fill in your basic info, and go through a short questionnaire (15 questions). Based on your answers and your first few matches, the algorithm assigns a starting Glicko-2 rating. No guessing — you get an accurate level, not the one you think you are.

02

Find an opponent at your level

The Find tab shows players within your rating range, in your city or while traveling. Filter by format (singles, doubles, women's), surface, and distance. You see the relative strength of every opponent before sending a challenge.

03

Send a challenge or join an open match

Challenge a player directly from their profile — propose a day, time and optionally a court. Or browse open matches others have posted and join with one click. The opponent accepts, declines, or makes a counter-offer.

04

Book a court (optional)

If you use a partner club, available slots are visible directly in the app. Pick a time and book — no phone call needed. Payment is on-site; CourtNomad coordinates the reservation.

05

Enter the result and wait for confirmation

After the match you enter the sets and games. The opponent confirms — only then does the rating change. The system prevents one-sided manipulation. If you disagree, a dispute is opened and resolved by moderators.

Rating system

Glicko-2 — a rating that tells the truth

We use the Glicko-2 algorithm, which calculates not only your level but also the confidence in that figure. The more matches you play, the more precise the rating becomes. Long inactivity makes the rating less reliable — meaning larger corrections in the next matches.

Rank table

AAdvanced / Elite
2000–2800+ RP
B+Advanced recreational
1700–2000 RP
BIntermediate
1450–1700 RP
C+Low-intermediate
1200–1450 RP
CBeginner / Recreational
800–1200 RP

Each category has 5 sub-levels (e.g. A1–A5). The rating changes after every confirmed match based on opponent strength and set difference.
